Terms of Service
These terms are an agreement between you (the trivia host who signs up) and Transformation Atlas LLC, which sells Pencils Down. By using Pencils Down you agree to them.
1. The service
Pencils Down helps trivia hosts grade answer sheets, keep score and show a leaderboard. Handwriting is read by an AI model, which can make mistakes. Answers it is unsure about are flagged for you to decide. You, the host, are responsible for the final scores and for checking results before announcing winners or awarding prizes.
2. Your account
You sign in with a link sent to your email. Keep access to that email secure. You are responsible for activity under your account.
3. Subscription, trial and billing
- Pencils Down costs $29 per month per host, plus any applicable tax.
- New subscriptions start with a 14-day free trial. A card is required to start the trial. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, your card is charged and the subscription renews monthly until cancelled.
- You can cancel anytime from the billing page. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
- Payments are processed by Stripe. Refunds are covered by our Refund Policy.
- We may change prices with at least 30 days' notice by email.
4. Acceptable use
Do not use Pencils Down to collect personal information from players, to upload images other than trivia answer sheets, to break the law, or to interfere with the service. Do not use it for events aimed at children under 13.
5. Your content
You own your answer keys, questions and night records. You give us permission to process them only to provide the service. Answer-sheet photos are processed and discarded, as described in the Privacy Policy.
6. Availability
We work to keep Pencils Down running but do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error free. Keep a backup plan (such as hand grading) for any night where scores matter.
7. Disclaimers and limits
The service is provided "as is". To the fullest extent allowed by law, Transformation Atlas LLC is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including disputes over trivia results or prizes, and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 3 months before the claim.
8. Ending the agreement
You can stop using Pencils Down and cancel at any time. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas.
